**Position Summary:** The Biomedical Writer ensures that scientific materials produced by Phase Five are of high quality, supported by current scientific thinking and are consistent with CME scientific requirements (if appropriate) with the ultimate goal of maintaining and building the scientific reputation of Phase V. The Writer will be trained to regularly interact with opinion leaders and other internal and external scientific professionals as well as to work closely with Phase Five Account Services, Editorial and Production teams to ensure ongoing, positive relationships with our clients. **Responsibilities:** - Write abstracts, manuscript outlines, slides and slide notes, posters when required - Provide references & direction to, and answer questions from, free-lance writers , - Critique drafts to ensure free-lance writers are on strategy and rewrite, if needed - Perform literature searches on background of drug and/or therapeutic category in keeping with strategic direction - Understand and execute strategic direction and content - Client interaction including answering questions regarding content issues on manuscripts, and slide/poster presentations, attend meetings & demonstrate knowledge of content, and participate actively in teleconferences and onsite meetings - Liaise with client and authors to meet project timelines - Fact check documents for medical and scientific accuracy - Learn and adhere to Phase Five and client processes Note: Employee is responsible for other duties as assigned. **Requirements:** - Strong attention to detail - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrated ability and comfort with presenting to large groups and acting as knowledge expert - Willingness to learn other therapeutic categories or outside area of focus and demonstrated ability to read and understand scientific/medical articles and data - Ability to work in a fast faced business environment and meet tight deadlines - Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and develop negotiation skills - Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint **Qualifications:** Education: - PhD in biological sciences Experience: - Post-doctoral experience not required, but proven publication experience preferred
